Symptoms and Signs of Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis only causes symptoms when there is a fracture of bone. Bone loss itself does not cause pain or other symptoms.
Fracures that result from osteoporosis cause pain and disability.
In some cases the symptoms from these fractures persist throughout life whereas in others they improve and eventually disappear. Wrist, Spine and Hip fractures are most common but fractures may occur in other parts of the skeleton.
