In the strategy for cancer control 2006 Breast Check will commence its full national rollout in 2007. The taniste said her goal was to have an Irish Cervical Screening Programme (ICSP) rolled out nationally by 2008.

The Cervical Screening Programme (ICSP) is the first phase of a national programme based in the HSE Mid-Western Area. The programme aims to invite registered women aged 25 to 60 years in the Mid-Western Area for a free cervical smear test, over a five-year period.
